This dua is mostly sung by kids in India & Pakistan schools, it was written by very famous freedom fighter Allama Iqbal. This dua has been sung by various singers and is very inspiring to many people. This dua has been also sung alot on Geo Television Network and various other channels during a country’s bad times. Lab pe aati hai dua ban kay tamana meri
Zindagi sham’a key surat ho Khudaya meri.زندگی شام'ا کے صراط ہو خدایا میری
May longing comes to my lips as supplication of mine O Allah!
May like the candle be the life of mine O Allah!
VERSE2:
Dur dunya ka maray dam say andheera ho jaye!
Har jagah meray chamaknay say ujala ho jaye!دور دنیا کا مارے ڈیم سے اندھیرا ہو جائے!
ہر جگہ مرے چمکنے سے اضلاع ہو جائے
May the world’s darkness disappear through the life of mine!
May every place light up with the sparkling light of mine!
VERSE3:
Ho maray dam say younhi meray watan key zeenat
Jis tarah phool say hoti hai chaman ki zenat.
Jis tarah phool say hoti hai chaman ki zenat.
ہو مارے ڈیم سے یونہی مرے وطن کے زینت
جس طرح پھول سے ہوتی ہے چمن کی زینت.
May my homeland through me attain elegance.
As the garden through flowers attains elegance.
VERSE4:
Zindgi hoo maray parwanay key surat Ya Rab!
Ilm ki sham’a say ho mujko muhabat Ya Rub!
Zindgi hoo maray parwanay key surat Ya Rab!
Ilm ki sham’a say ho mujko muhabat Ya Rub!
زندگی ہو مارے پروانے کے صراط یا رب!
علم کی شام’ا سے ہو مجکو محبت یا رب!
May my life like that of the moth be, O Allah!
May I love the lamp of knowledge, O Allah

Ho mara kaam ghareeboon key himayat kerna
Dard mandoon say za’ieefoon say muhabbat karna.
ہو مرا کام غریبوں کے حمایت کرنا
درد مندوں سے ز’ائفوں سے محبّت کرنا.
May supportive of the poor my life’s way be
May loving the old, the suffering my way be.
Dard mandoon say za’ieefoon say muhabbat karna.

Maray Allah! burai say bachana mujhko
Naik jo rah hoo us raah pay chalana mujh ko.
لب پے آتی ہے دوا بان کے تمنا میری زندگی شمع کی صراط ہو خدایا میرے.
Naik jo rah hoo us raah pay chalana mujh ko.
مارے الله! بری سے بچانا مجھکو
نیک جو رہ ہو اس راہ پے چلانا مجھ کو.
O Allah! Protect me from the evil ways
Show me the path leading to the good living.
VERSE7:
